Elvis Presley’s granddaughter Riley addresses ‘family curse’ after series of young deaths

Riley Keough has addressed the rumors of a “curse” on her famous family, after speculation that there was one on them following the deaths of her brother and her mother in recent years.
The actress has already addressed other wild theories about her family over the years and has also gone on the record about the “embarrassing” warnings her mother gave her about pursuing a career in Hollywood.
She’s also slammed “nepo babies” who deny their “privilege” when it comes to their careers as well.
Now, Elvis’ granddaughter is addressing the conspiracy theory that her family is “cursed,” specifically after her recent death.
She discussed the rumors while live on stage in a Los Angeles theater on the last stop of her book tour.
During the stop, she addressed the theory that the family was cursed after her grandfather, Elvis, died in 1977 at the age of 42, her brother, Benjamin, died in 2020 at the age of 27, and her mother, Lisa Marie, died in 2023 at the age of 54.
She admitted she was pretty sure there wasn’t a curse, and shared that the deeper issue to talk about is addiction.
“I think the word ‘curse’ is used because my family are looked at as this not real mythology or something, but really it’s just very common things, like addiction,” she said.
“Everyone in here has loved somebody with addiction issues or has lost somebody tragically,” she added.

She also said she hoped future generations of her family wouldn’t fall victim to addiction the same way the older ones did.
Since her mother’s passing, Keough became the sole heir to her grandfather’s Graceland estate.
Though they have since seemed to mend things, she was previously engaged in an intense legal battle with her grandmother, Priscilla Presley, over the property.
