Description

Vintage high precision Carbon film resistors NOS. Resistors will be tested on a weatstone bridge and neatly packed before shipment. High Quality Precision-Carbon film resistors as used by Philips and Siemens in high precision measuring instruments in the 50's to 70's. Manufacturer: Gesellschaft für Hochfrequenz und Elektromechanik mbH (see advertising picture in my listing) The ceramic tube is 25 mm. long and 5 mm. in diameter. The leads ar 30 mm. long each so total length = 85mm These dimensions are the same for all resistors in this listing. For different values see the drop down list. Ideal for use in High-End Audio-projects, restoration specially for tube amplifiers, tube radio's and guitar amps Carbon Film resistor types, are made by depositing a carbon film onto an insulating ceramic rod. The resistive value of the resistor is controlled by increasing the desired thickness of the deposited film. Once deposited, a high precision spiral helix groove type pattern is cut into this film. The cutting of the film has the effect of increasing the conductive or resistive path, a bit like taking a long length of straight wire and forming it into a coil. This method of manufacture allows for much closer tolerance resistors (1% or less) as compared to the simpler carbon composition types.
